Made it to Outland!

I dinged level 58 last night on Slig, my Tauren shaman! So, of course I had to crawl through the Dark Portal to check out Outland. Fortunately, I had my buddy Charah with me to help me pick up the flight paths and protect me from the very bad mamma-jammas out there. I took some pictures on my tour; click them to see larger versions.

All I could think of was, “My God, it’s full of stars!“

I couldn’t take many shots of the doings in Outland because it was SO INSANE and I really had to run like crazy after Charah in order to make it to the city of Shattrath alive. When I go back out there I’ll take some good tourist pictures to show you the chaos and war that rages out there.

    Outland was tough for my shaman from 60 to 63 for some reason - I died a bunch, and generally got frustrated with it, so I switched to my hunter to level first. Something clicked at ~63 though, and I went from “carefully pull 1 at a time and drink every 3rd mob” to “indiscriminately chain-destroying stuff”. Still not sure exactly what it was - probably a tipping-point of some sort with equipment (crit% or AP), and a bit of L2P added in.

    I’m guessing “that THING” that kept chasing me was a Fel Reaver. I can only guess because I was running so fast and kiting Frost Shock that I had no time to read the mob description. Fortunately, Charah put down a frost trap and we boogied away. I promise you the first splat I take in Outland will be recorded here.

    I think your blog says you’re specced Enhancement, correct? I’m specced Elemental so let’s see if I die more or less often below 63 than you did…

    Yup, I’ve been Enhancement all the way. Never tried elemental, but my brother had an elemental shammy that he raided with pre-BC - said that it worked really well for him.

    Nice thing with Shaman right now is that all 3 trees are really good (end game). Resto sucks for levelling (i.e., is really slow), but the other two should work fine for that.
