It Didn’t Go Well
Spent several hours last night trying to debug my WoW problem. I really appreciate everyone’s comments and ideas. Unfortunately, like Wulf, I’ve come to the end of what I think is reasonable to try except testing the power supply — and I plan to try that tonight. However, unlike Wulf, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with my computer and it works fine with everything else — even Photoshop and Maya. I heard there was a new patch released yesterday, so maybe I’ll try to run the Blizzard updater and see if that fixes it. (If it requires the WoW login screen, though, I’m hosed because that’s where it locks up.)
My workaround is to install WoW on our iMac G5. Wish me luck.

How did it go? Was it a power supply? I finally gave up on my computer – at least when it comes to gaming. It works fine for everything else.
I bit the bullet and ordered me a new computer. Good thing is, I eventually planned on getting one, bad thing is I wasn’t expecting to buy it this early.
Good luck with everything! I’m interested to hear how it goes.

No it wasn’t the power supply. I’m still stumped. I’m doing, as they say in our IT department, a “workaround” by using the Mac instead. I keep checking it from time to time but nothing’s changed on the PC yet. I’ll shoot you a post if I ever get it to work again.
